One of the most common questions our clients ask is whether the USOE has a list of “required policies”. To our knowledge, no one has created such a list. Given the need we have seen, however, we have gone through state and federal law and Board rules and compiled the attached list of policies for your reference.
The attached list includes policies that are 1) required in law/rule, and 2) strongly suggested due to other requirements in law or rule. We believe this list includes the policies required by federal law, State Code and Board of Education Rules. This is by no means a comprehensive list of all policies an LEA may want to create. We will be updating this list as amendments or additions are made by the Legislature and/or Board of Education.
